Ian played baseball this year. The coach was the dad of one of the kids in Ian's class. He was a great coach and really tried to teach the boys baseball. He was very encouraging to them and never yelled, unlike some of the coaches of the other teams.
His team did really well and almost won the championship. Ian was a very good batter and almost always had a hit whenever he was at bat. He even caught an inning or two and while he wasn't great at it we were very proud of him that he stuck to it even though he was hit in the head by a pitch.
We were also happy that he said he wanted to play again next year.

You can tell Ian that Josh's team went to the playoffs one year. He was first to bat (He was the biggest member of the team) and the coach wanted him to bunt. He did for the first time and it went straight into his nose, broke it and bled. We took him to the hospital where they x-rayed it. He was going to scout camp the next day and had planned to get a major portion of his badges but couldn't do the water ones so he made do and came home with the most—9! His team went on to win that night and we were able to join them for ice cream. His coach was so proud of him and that the team rallied for him that he wrote an article for the paper the next day. Pretty cool. I love little league.
